Robin
Games

A line to a game you can play.

Say what you want, or start from Catch, Platformer, Tower defence, Racing, Puzzle, Quiz or Arcade. Robin plans it and builds it beside the chat, and everything the game is made of is a view away.

The Games bench playing the Blotsworn demo in Robin’s browser: its title over the ink swordsman with his red scarf, the serpent and a gold moon, Duel 1 of 6; the things in the game listed beside it with the Player’s question, and its checks under it.
  • Where it plays 2D or 3D, for the web, an iPhone, Unity, Godot or Defold.
  • One line of steps Brief, Plan, Target, Live, Run and Ship.
  • Checked for free Run checks plays it again and checks everything, on your Mac.
  • Yours to publish itch.io, Cloudflare Pages or a folder. It always asks first.

Opens on a demo. Blotsworn: An ink boss rush to play, inspect and check, beat by beat. Free, on your Mac, nothing to set up.

Made one step after the other.

Inside the game, the work is one line of steps, each marked done, now or next. A director leads it; an art director, an audio director, a level designer and a critic do their parts, with a player among the reviewers. When it is your call, they ask.

  • Brief the brief as a card. Change it, or Yes, start the work.
  • Plan a sheet with your notes in the margin. Apply or Revise.
  • Target the frame the game is aiming for, beside its newest frame. Mark up what is off.
Thimble & Clay on the Games bench: the views across the top, Game, Assets, Sprites, Animations, Sound, Source, Captures and Reels; under them the steps Brief, Plan, Target, Live, Run and Ship with Target ringed; then the target frame, a clay hero on a spool bridge, beside the newest frame the game drew, with two numbered marks.

Play it, then point at it.

A web game runs in Robin’s own browser beside the chat. On Live, pick something in the game to Ask about it, Change it, see its Takes or Remove it. Try its values live, then Keep or Put back. Play it full screen, or turn the phone. Ask in the chat and Robin’s own pointer makes the same presses.

Blotsworn on the Games bench, running in Robin’s browser: Duel 1 of 6, the title over the ink swordsman with his red scarf, a serpent of ink and a gold moon.

Everything it is made of.

Every part of a game is a view away, each read from the game’s own folder.

  • Sprites each sheet and run of frames, at the speed you set, looped or back and forth, a frame at a time.
  • Animations what moves, each model in its clips.
  • Sound its music and every effect, by their real names.
  • Source its code in the editor the Code app uses, with go to definition, hover and errors from a language server.
  • Levels once it has them: paint, place a start, an enemy, a pickup or a goal, then Play this level.
Kettle Cove Post’s Source on the Games bench: its files grouped as Code, Design, Build and Data, Game.swift open with the card for catchItem over its code, Go to definition, 1 reference and Ask Robin about it, and the outline and No problems in this file on the right.

Every frame it caught.

Captures keeps every frame and clip its checks, rounds and recordings caught, on the Mac and on a phone. Step a frame at a time, mark it up or ask about it. Record a clip films the game as it plays, on the Simulator or in the preview. Reels holds trailers cut from its real play.

Ship it when it is ready.

Ship is the launch page: the title, its line and keywords, a Press kit, a Screening by the critic panel, a Dry run and Publish. A web game needs Node.js on your Mac; Unity needs Unity Hub with an editor. Publishing always asks you first.

The price before you press.

Every make says what it costs and whose it is before it runs. Above the limit you set, it waits for your yes.
